Clinical Therapist, Caroline Boynton has 16 years experience with both group and individual counseling. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. And as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), Caroline specializes in teen, adolescent, and adult struggles with substance use disorders and family conflict.

Caroline says that working at Sanford has been a “revelation”. She values the critical role of support in sustaining recovery and the daily inspiration our clients and their families provide. She says, “I am moved by the courage of our clients to share their stories and kindnesses to each other. And I am honored to witness their growth in recovery.”

Caroline uses a strength based approach to help clients achieve success and empowerment through their own insight, learning, courage, and wisdom. In her free time, Caroline likes to walk her dog with friends or her daughter, ride bikes, listen to music, cook, and garden. And she loves humor, comedy.

Caroline says, “I work in this field because I love people. I love helping clients find the “just right” tips, tricks and coping skills that help maintain sobriety; reduce anxiety and depression; and increase and maintain motivation. I love the puzzle of figuring out what is going to be most helpful to our clients to give them lasting recovery and hope.”
