Sanford Outpatient Center is conveniently located on the first floor of the landmark, Grand Rapids Masonic Temple. We offer addiction and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment to adults 18 or older. At the outpatient center, we offer flexible, innovative, individualized recovery programs that work for those who have work, child care, school or other obligations. Outpatient treatment allows for the continuation of everyday activities while integrating effective strategies to manage recovery day-to-day.
Sanford Outpatient Center is a great place to gather for treatment and community support. We welcome current clients, family and Sanford alumni. We also offer all of our programs via telehealth.

What’s Offered At This Location
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP allows for continuation of everyday activities while integrating effective strategies to manage recovery. IOP is available to adults who live within reasonable driving distance from Sanford or those in a sober living environment who may have completed a residential program and need additional support. Clients are expected to maintain a sober lifestyle while living independently. Please visit our Outpatient Program page for additional information.
Virtual Outpatient Treatment (Telehealth)
Sanford Virtual Addiction Treatment, or telehealth, offers the same evidence-based practices that our in-person programs provide, but in the comfort and safety of home. Classes are conducted by “video-chat” technology using smartphones or computers. Virtual outpatient treatment is real-time with a master’s level clinician as facilitator. Programs offered are Medication-Assisted Treatment; Intensive Outpatient Programs; Outpatient Programs; Eating Disorder Treatment and one-on-one and family counseling.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT includes group, individual, and family therapy along with medical services and medication management. Clinicians and the medical team work together to support clients throughout their treatment. Outpatient (OP) Therapy
OP offers weekly individual, group, and family therapy as well as treatment and aftercare planning. OP can also help clients locate and access community support and resources. Please visit our Outpatient Program page for additional information.
