Tim Schowalter is the owner and CEO of Pioneer General Contractors Inc., a privately held, 4th Generation family-owned commercial construction company headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pioneer employs over 300 skilled professionals and manages projects throughout the United States with annual revenues exceeding $300 million. Tim has extensive experience in evaluating complex projects and the risks associated with construction and real estate.

Tim’s number one rule in business is to work with good people. Tim’s investment strategy follows the same path and has taken him into many market sectors, including food and beverage, commercial real estate, hospitality, medical devices, technology, and venture investing. Tim has practical experience scaling and managing high-performing businesses and believes that working with and investing with good people is the key to any successful venture. Tim has served on numerous boards and committees, both for-profit and not-for-profit, including but not limited to the Pine Rest Foundation, Grand Valley University Foundation, Associated Builders and Contractors of West Michigan, and the John Ball Zoo.
