Men’s Addiction Treatment – Take the Tour
Sanford House at John Street for Men is a residential treatment facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following the success of Sanford House at Cherry Street for Women, Founders Rae and David Green looked for a site for their men’s facility. Their goal was to create the same type of gender specific environment for men, that worked so well for women in their Cherry Street location. This time, they incorporated treatment focused on male gendered approaches to communication and interaction.
Hidden in plain sight, the fully restored Hazeltine mansion is on a hill in the Heritage Hill District of Grand Rapids. In fact, you can miss it if you are not looking carefully. It is one of the reasons the Greens chose the John Street location. Privacy and homelike comfort are cornerstones of the Sanford philosophy.
Men’s Addiction Treatment
At Sanford, we offer men a congenial, homelike and decidedly non-institutional environment in which to heal. Why? Because recovery begins in a particular place. And a pleasing environment can reduce stress, promote self-awareness and serve as a vehicle to healing. The environment is comfortable, but the treatment is rigorous. Sanford takes pride in providing sophisticated clinical programming. Our programs are founded on evidence-based interventions. And our master’s level team of therapists provide various therapeutic modalities that can be tailored to each individual.
There is a full medical staff to complement the clinical team. This includes: MD Addictionologist and Consulting Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner, Physicians Assistants, and 24-hour nurse supervision. Our Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines psychosocial behavioral therapy and pharmacotherapy to treat both mental health and substance use disorders.
