Nina Deane, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Nina Deane has worked in the mental health field as a registered nurse for the last three and one-half years. Prior to that, Nina was an emergency room travel nurse. During her experience traveling, she realized that at every hospital, no matter the location, size, or funding, there was a consistent lack of effective mental health care. Nina saw patients who desperately needed help constantly getting stuck in a broken system that did not serve them.

At Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders, Nina appreciates that the people she works for and works with genuinely care about the patients being served. She says, “We have an amazing team that strives to see and treat each client as the individual they are, and that is rare in healthcare. The complexity of eating disorders makes my job interesting. When someone is malnourished, it affects their entire body, especially their brain.”

When she isn’t working, Nina loves to travel, cook, spend time with family, and do anything outdoors.

“Figuring out how to best support each client as they heal from their eating disorder and go through nutritional rehabilitation is so rewarding. Recovery is hard, and if I can make even one step of the journey easier for a client, it makes this work worth it.” Nina Deane
