Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Senior Nursing Director

Amy Boshoven has been practicing as a nurse practitioner (NP) in West Michigan for over 25 years. She started her career as a Women’s Health NP with a focus on reproductive medicine. Years later, Amy started working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and realized she enjoyed this line of work. She went back to school and completed a post-masters certificate program in the field of Psychiatric Mental Health. Amy is now certified as both a Women’s Health and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In both of her careers, she says, “I have had the pleasure to work with clients across the lifespan and with a wide variety of diagnostic issues. I am happy to join Sanford to add a medical/psychiatric component to the already outstanding care for those with eating disorders.”

Amy’s role at Sanford Behavioral Health is to complete psychiatric evaluations and treat underlying issues such as depression and anxiety. She works in tandem with the therapy and nutrition staff at Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders to manage medical issues that may arise while clients are being treated.

Born and raised most of her life in Michigan, Amy currently lives in a suburb of Grand Rapids with her husband and two boys.
