Michigan’s First Standalone Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Center!

Thank you to, Alana Holland, and WZZM 13 for the informed reporting on Sanford Behavioral Health’s newest facility. Located just 12 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders (SCTED) opens its in-patient treatment center in April 2022. At long last, it is the first standalone residential treatment center for eating disorders in the state.

 

Chief Clinical Officer, Jenny Selent, MA, LMFT, and Executive Director of Eating Disorder Services, Gail Hall, LMSW, DCSW, CEDS-S were both available to share their excitement. And yes, we’re excited!

 

We’re not just opening the first residential treatment center for eating disorders in the state. In fact, we are trying to set the standard for treatment in Michigan. And we want to set the bar really high.

Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders

Sanford Comprehensive Treatment for Eating Disorders (SCTED) is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and provides sophisticated treatment programs in an intimate, personalized setting. Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions with the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric diagnosis. Accordingly, treatment is best provided by a multidisciplinary team of experts. Medical monitoring and stabilization, nutritional intervention, and psychological support are all essential parts of SCTED treatment at all levels of care.
