Sanford Addiction Treatment – Michigan Company Rehabbing Rehab
Jeffrey Mosher, of Michigan Business Network, speaks with Sanford Founder and CEO, David Green on Michigan Business Beat. Sanford Addiction Treatment Centers is based in Grand Rapids and “specializes in rehabbing rehab”. The Sanford residential facilities don’t look like traditional treatment centers across Michigan. As they are typically in refurbished homes, comfortable, and gender specific. This helps to reduce the shame associated with addiction and encourages a holistic approach to recovery.
The company opened in 2015 with a women’s treatment center, and they rapidly expanded with a men’s treatment center in 2017. An outpatient facility was opened in 2018. Due to the high demand for individualized care to address addiction, Sanford grew from four employees to more than 50 today.
In his interview, David Green answers the questions:
- What impact does addiction have on the workplace?
- How accessible is addiction treatment in Michigan?
- And how is Sanford Addiction Treatment Centers “rehabbing rehab”?

Addiction has a substantial impact on the workplace. And it’s a conversation we’re having with a number of business leaders. Unfortunately 1 in 10 of your employees are going to be in active addiction. Also, there are a lot of costs associated with it. In the U.S. the cost is at least $81 billion annually to business.
