Sanford Outpatient Center is conveniently located at Sanford West Behavioral Health Campus in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan. We provide addiction and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment to adults 18 or older. At the outpatient center, we offer flexible, innovative, individualized recovery programs that are ideal for those who have work, childcare, school, and other obligations. Outpatient treatment allows for the continuation of everyday activities while integrating effective strategies to manage recovery.
Sanford Outpatient Center is an excellent place to gather for treatment and community support. We welcome current clients, family, and Sanford alumni. We also offer all programs via telehealth.
Sanford Outpatient Center for Addiction
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Partial Hospitalization, is one level of care higher than the Intensive Outpatient Program for addiction. The purpose of PHP is to provide therapy, structure, and accountability during the day, while allowing patients to practice their learned skills in their home, Sanford Supportive Housing, or in a sober living environment after daily programming concludes.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP allows for continuation of everyday activities while integrating effective strategies to manage recovery. IOP is available to adults who live within reasonable driving distance from Sanford or those in a sober living environment who may have completed a residential program and need additional support. Clients are expected to maintain a sober lifestyle while living independently.
Virtual Outpatient Treatment (Telehealth)
Sanford Virtual Addiction Treatment, or telehealth, offers the same evidence-based practices that our in-person programs provide, but in the comfort and safety of home. Classes are conducted by “video-chat” technology using smartphones or computers. Virtual outpatient treatment is real-time with a master’s level clinician as facilitator. Programs offered are Medication-Assisted Treatment; Partial Hospitalization Programs, Intensive Outpatient Programs; Outpatient Programs; Eating Disorder Treatment and one-on-one and family counseling.
Integrative Programs
Integrative therapy is an approach to treatment that joins different medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic techniques from different practices that are best suited to an individuals particular conditions. By tailoring the therapy to the individual, integrative therapy produces positive outcomes. With integration, medical and clinical professionals confer and strategize to address co-occurring disorders and each patient's unique recovery plan.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT includes group, individual, and family therapy together with medical services and medication management. Clinicians and the medical team work together to support clients throughout their treatment. MAT can be combined with other levels of care. Outpatient (OP) Therapy
OP offers weekly individual, group, and family therapy as well as treatment and aftercare planning. OP can also help clients locate and access community support and resources. Please visit our Outpatient Program page for additional information.
