Dr. Bibhas Singla is triple board-certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and HALM (Healthcare Administration, Leadership, and Management). He also holds industry distinctions as a FACHE (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives), CPE (Certified Physician Executives), and FAPA (Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association). He has more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health, specializing in addiction treatment. Dr. Singla has cared for patients across acute, residential, and outpatient settings. He has also worked with payers and policymakers to expand access to mental health services.

Dr. Singla is passionate about helping community members through moments of crisis and building services to prevent future crises. He has collaborated with media and community partners to elevate conversations about mental health and addiction. 

He says, “I have long admired Sanford Behavioral Health’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality mental health services in West Michigan. I have watched Sanford grow from a single program into a behavioral health system offering multiple levels of care. There is tremendous potential in this organization’s people. I believe Sanford will continue to grow to fill critical gaps in mental health services.”

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Singla ensures that Sanford’s services are clinically excellent and welcoming. That includes how we listen, how our teams communicate, and how our community accesses the help they need. Dr. Singla believes the best care happens when providers feel supported. In that regard, he focuses attention on the development and well-being of Sanford’s teams.

He says, “What excites me about this role is the opportunity for accelerated growth that never loses sight of our clients’ needs. I want every team member to understand how their work improves our patients’ lives. I also want our clients to feel that their needs are front and center.”

Outside of work, Dr. Singla describes himself as a “serial hobbyist.” He enjoys mountain biking, paddleboarding, scuba diving, reading, and spending time outdoors with his two daughters.
