Kelly Culmore, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Kelly Culmore joined our medical team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Kelly is a board-certified nurse practitioner and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Rush University in Chicago in 2018. She began her nursing career ten years ago, and has worked with patients with severe medical conditions in the acute-care setting. Kelly’s medical experience has helped her consider all aspects of an individual’s health.

In the last several years, Kelly provides medication management services to individuals with various psychiatric illnesses, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring substance use disorders (SUD). She has found working with SUD to be particularly challenging, and wanted to help address the need for exceptional treatment in the community.

Kelly says, “Sanford has the resources to comprehensively treat clients with co- occurring SUD and mental illnesses. I feel honored to be part of a client’s recovery process. I want to help others explore the underlying problems that influenced their addiction and help them find their way to a life that is far more satisfying than the one they are leaving behind.”

In her free time, Kelly can be found traveling, completing DIY/home improvement projects, and spending time with her husband and dog.

“Recovery is a tremendously difficult, yet worthwhile journey. At Sanford Behavioral Health, we recognize and treat not only one’s addiction, but help clients explore the underlying problems they are trying to alleviate with substances,” says Kelly Culmore.
