Gayle Wireman, MA, SPHR

Director of Human Resources

Gayle Wireman started her HR career in manufacturing about 30 years ago. She worked in the automotive field and even relocated from Michigan to South Carolina to work as an HR Generalist for a large automotive supplier. After being in SC for 4 years, she was homesick and moved back to her hometown of Albion, MI. Gayle became the Director of HR and Operations Manager, for the largest private healthcare practice in Lansing, MI. However, when she met a “special individual” who brought her to Grand Rapids, Gayle found herself in an interview at Sanford Behavioral Health.

Gayle is drawn to HR because she wants to help the most important asset an organization has – their staff. Gayle says, “My job at Sanford fulfills my desire to help, with the added satisfaction of making a mark on the addiction world. In essence, I feel like I am supporting both Sanford’s most important asset, which in turn is supporting those seeking a life without addiction.” Gayle loves being a part of Sanford’s thumbprint on the behavioral health world.

During the summer months Gayle loves taking care of her 51 rose bushes and the rest of her flowers. Otherwise, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family is what she can be found doing.

Life is about how you live your “dash”, which for some may be straight, but for the majority is a bit “squiggly”. Our clients come in with a “squiggly line”, but leave with a little straighter line due to the passion Sanford has for them. Gayle Wireman
