Individualized Eating Disorder Treatment

Everyone is unique! No two individuals have the same background or mental health conditions. For that reason, we design personalized treatment plans for each patient that include trauma-informed care, as well as a health at every size/health in every body approach.

Program Summary

We believe in health at every size (HAES), which respects bodily diversity and promotes movement for both enjoyment and health. For everyone we treat, our goal is that they return to intuitive eating habits—eating only when hungry and stopping when full.

During treatment, you will benefit from a complementary mix of programs and services that have proven to be effective in the recovery process.

  • In-person and virtual program options
  • A psychiatrist-led medical team
  • On-staff dietitians
  • Meal support and clinical kitchen
  • Cooking and community excursions
  • Emotion-focused family therapy
  • Mindfulness, yoga, movement, and art therapy
  • Exposure-response therapy
  • Recreation therapy
  • Authentic staff, community, and connection

A full continuum of care for eating disorders, as well as for co-occurring addiction, OCD, self-harm, and depression

"My care team at Sanford never fails to make me smile and laugh; their kindness is contagious. They are so insightful and intelligent. I know they always want the best for me and have helped me so much on the road to recovery, especially learning how to adequately fuel my body. I am so thankful for all of the hard work they do. I would not be where I'm at if it wasn't for their patience and understanding. They are people I can talk to without feeling judgement. Because they were always genuine and real, it gave me permission to be genuine and real too."
