Job Description
Job Summary
The role of the Staff Accountant is to assist with general accounting functions including recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records, data entry, recording journal entries, performing variance analysis, and file management.
โโRole and Responsibilitiesโ
- Aids in maintaining accounts payable for multiple inter-related companies including operating entities and real estate entities.
- Aids in daily processing of expense and revenue coding.
- Ensures the General Ledger is accurate and up to date.
- Reconciles monthly credit card statements including receipt tracking and company credit card allocations.
- Assists in tracking departmental expenditures according to budgeted figures.
- Assists with research, general filing, data entry, and coordinating and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
- Works as a part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the operations of the company.
- Assists in month end, quarter end, and year end processes, as needed.
- Assists with other accounting and finance-based ad-hoc projects, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
โโQualifications and Education Requirementsโ
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, required.
- 1-2 years of experience, preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Proficient at Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Pivot Tables
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
- Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
- Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.
- Attention to detail and efficient time-management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as typing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to clearly express and exchange ideas by means of spoken words to impart oral information to employees or others accurately or quickly, engaging in sometimes lengthy conversations or presentations.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs daily.
- Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with your hand or hands.
- Must be able to perceive sound by ear to interpret oral information from employees or others accurately or quickly.
- Work will be performed in an office environment with fluctuating temperatures.
